Experienced Worker Assessment – where next?

If you’ve completed the Skills Scan and it seems the Experienced Worker Assessment might not be right for you, take a look at potential next steps…

If you’re based in England and need to gain additional practical experience or knowledge which is likely to take at least 12 months to obtain, you should consider enrolling on an apprenticeship. There are no age restrictions, plus the cost of the training and end assessment will be funded via your employer. You don’t have to start at the beginning as prior knowledge and qualifications can be recognised to reduce the typical 4-year duration.

Otherwise, there is a suite of industry-recognised technical and vocational qualifications available to increase your technical knowledge and practical skills, namely:

  • Level 2 Diploma In Electrical Installation classroom-based technical knowledge and practical skills
  • Level 3 Diploma In Electrical Installation classroom-based technical knowledge and practical skills
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services – workplace experience required

Qualifications are issued by C&G or EAL and are widely available. Your local provider will be able to advise you in more detail about the best route forward.
